Course: EL314 การนำเสนอทางธุรกิจ (Block 4)

Instructor: Asst. Prof. Dr. Janpha Thadphoothon

(Press 'Next' to start)

Objectives

  • Define "Sequential Expressions" (also called Signposting).
  • Identify words used for beginning, moving on, and ending.
  • Practice ordering a business process clearly.
  • Test your knowledge of linking words.

Why Use Sequential Expressions?

Imagine driving without a GPS map. You would get lost.

Without Sequencing:
"We did research. We made a product. We sold it. We made money." (Boring & Unclear)
With Sequencing:
"First, we conducted research. Then, we developed the product. Finally, we achieved record sales." (Professional)

The Sequencing Toolkit

1. Starting
• First of all...
• To begin with...
• Initially...
2. Moving On
• Next...
• Then...
• After that...
• Subsequently...
3. Finishing
• Finally...
• Lastly...
• To conclude...
• In summary...

Tip: Don't just say "And then... and then... and then..."

Practice: Order the Steps

Topic: Launching a New Coffee Shop

Put these steps in order using: First, Next, Finally.

A. Open the doors to customers.
B. Find a location.
C. Hire staff.

Practice: Formal vs. Informal

Which word sounds more professional for a business presentation?

1. "________, I would like to welcome you all."

2. "We gathered data. ________, we analyzed it."

Final Test

Choose the best transition word.

Q: "We have discussed the problem. Now, let's ________ the solutions."

Summary

  • Use Signposting to help your audience follow your ideas.
  • Vary your language (don't repeat "Next" 10 times).
  • Assignment: In your presentation, clearly mark the Beginning, Middle, and End.

See you in class!
