The 8 Steps of Exporting

Jane: "The first step is Order Confirmation & Production. 📝 This is when the importer in Singapore places an order with us. We agree on the price and the delivery date, then we get to work producing and packaging all 5,000 tons of rice."

"The second step is Domestic Transportation. 🚚 We load the rice onto trucks. The trucks then transport the rice from our factory, maybe in Saraburi, to the port in Thailand, which is Laem Chabang Port."

"The third step is Export Customs Clearance. 📜 Before the rice can leave Thailand, we must get permission from the Thai customs. Our customs broker submits all the important documents, like the Bill of Lading, the Commercial Invoice, and the Certificate of Origin."

"The fourth step is Loading (Port of Loading). 🏗️ Once we have customs clearance, we move the rice into big shipping containers. Large cranes then lift these containers and put them onto a cargo ship at Laem Chabang Port."

"The fifth step is the Ocean Voyage. 🚢 The ship, carrying our rice, travels across the sea from Laem Chabang to Singapore. This journey can take a few days, and sometimes bad weather can cause delays."

"The sixth step is Import Customs Clearance. 📄 When the ship arrives in Singapore, the rice has to pass through customs there. The importer's broker pays all the necessary import duties and taxes so the goods can enter the country."

"The seventh step is Import Transportation. 🚛 After the rice is unloaded from the ship, it is loaded onto another truck. This truck takes the rice from the Port of Singapore to the importer's warehouse."

"Finally, the eighth step is Delivery to Importer. ✅ The truck arrives at the final destination. The rice is unloaded, and the importer inspects it to make sure everything is correct and in good condition."
